Hope, Historic Cemeteries And Churches
Hope, Historic Cemeteries and Churches is not just a history book but a journey of remembrance. Author Paul J. Strom, known as Jerry, guides readers through sacred spaces where memory, heritage, and faith intersect. With gentleness and care, he reflects on the places time has nearly erased, bringing dignity to cemeteries, churches, and the communities they once anchored.
Jerry writes with a voice shaped by spiritual reflection and quiet observation. He does not fill pages with facts alone, but instead allows the tombstones, slabs, and sanctuaries to tell their own stories. Through his words, the past feels alive where the line between yesterday and today grows thin. His writing highlights resilience, community, and the spiritual foundations that once held entire towns together, even those that have now vanished.
Rather than explain away every mystery, Strom leaves space for readers to wonder and reflect. He understands that some questions are better left unanswered, allowing mystery and memory to coexist. In doing so, he invites readers not only to learn but also to feel the reverence carried within these places.
About
Hope and how to mess with a good commercial real estate business
After 45 years as an Investor, Developer, Buyer’s Broker, and Seller’s Broker of Residential and Commercial real estate, I had the opportunity to sell the Marker IV Marina in Venice Florida at the bridge of Business US 41 and the Intracoastal Waterway. I loved this transaction. Mike was easy to work with after it was foreclosed with a major effort by Steve Witzer from a ‘Deadbeat’ owner.
After the contract with Mike, Steve was killed in an auto accident in his Maserati going south in the right lane, out of Shelly’s, (Michelle, Steve’s wife) Gift Shop just south of Demetrio’s Pizza. Steve was moving through the right-hand lane at the light at Field Road and trying to avoid an 81-year-old man, who turned in front of Steve. but the view was blocked by a truck, Steve hit his car then the curb, and cartwheeled into the parking lot of a furniture store, DOA. Neither was at fault and the older man was released from Sarasota Memorial Hospital, unhurt. Go figure.
